Latvian Television
Latvian Television is a national public service broadcasting company
financed from the state budget, commercial activities and sponsorship. Latvian
Television produces educational, culture, science, entertainment, children, sports
and other programmes for the needs of the society, including programmes on lifestyle
and culture of minorities living in Latvia.

The National Broadcasting Council of Latvia
The National Broadcasting Council of Latvia was established under the
provisions of the Radio and TV law. Section 41 of the Radio and Television Law defines
the status of the Council as “an independent institution which shall represent the
interests of the public in the field of electronic mass media and supervise the latter
so that in their operations the Constitution, this Law and other Laws be observed, as
well as that the freedom of speech and information are ensured”

Latvian State Radio and Television Centre
LSRTC ensures the implementation of the state commission of state
non-profit company Latvian Radio and state non-profit limited company Latvian
Television by broadcasting radio and television programmes to audiences across
Latvia conveying these programmes from the studios to the transmitters as well as by
planning, designing, organizing and maintaining broadcasting systems.

The Latvian Institute
The Latvian Institute (LI) was created by the Latvian Government
in 1998 to provide information to the global community about Latvia and its people.
The goal of the LI is to help the globalised world community better
understand Latvia today by providing essential and useful information on all aspects
of Latvia's history, culture and society.
The LI provides basic information on its web page, produces various print
materials in several languages. LI works directly with international journalists,
editors, researchers and others who have a professional interest in Latvia.
